The Affordable Care Act will commence operations starting on October 1st, 2013. What is the Affordable Care Act (ACA hereafter)? Click here for a quick summary from Wikipedia. Just to clarify though, 'In March 2010, President Obama signed comprehensive health care reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) into law. The law makes preventive care - including family planning and related services - more accessible and affordable for Americans. On October 1, 2013, open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace will begin, with coverage beginning after January 1, 2014.

Information about 'What is the Health Insurance Marketplace?' and an 800 Number That Users Can Call to Get Marketplace Questions Answered. Also, users can click on this link to go to NY State of Health - which is the 'official health plan marketplace' of New York State'.
Finally, uses can use this link to get 'In-Person Assistance in the Healthcare Insurance Marketplace' - from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
