Hobbies For Your Spare Time Part 2

Hi All,

I was looking at a list of the top viewed blog entries that I've written over the past few months and low and behold one entry seemed to stick out: Hobbies For Your Spare Time. It got an inordinately large number of hits from viewers!

With that thought in mind, I'd like to do essentially a 'part 2' of that blog entry. Just think of this as 'Hobbies For Your Spare Time, Part 2'.

I don't want to get to serious and/or library-like here, but if you are interested in a hobby, there are many, many associations that you can join to learn more about that particular hobby. For example if you click on this link you'll link to the Farmingdale PL database page. From here you can link to the Business databases where you will find a datbase called 'Associations Unlimited'. This is exactly what it sounds like - this resource will give you contact information and website information (when available) on thousands of organizations and associations.

If, for example, you are interested in gold, birding, antique book collecting, gardening, home repair, table making or any other hobby that you can think of, you can get the contact info from Associations Unlimited, Great stuff and if you think about it, an association that deals with your topic of interest is a great place to start and to get more information. One way to think about hobbies is that more than likely there is at least one organization or association that covers your hobby or interest.

Hobbies For Your Spare Time

Hi All,

Welcome to a wet, dreary, rainy, windy, cold Monday morning.

If that doesn't make you want to stay in bed nothing will. Alas, the day has started...so what better way to start the week with...not a work related post, but with an entertaining, fun related post.

I'm talking hobbies here. Everything from stamp collecting, to wood carving, to playing the piano to ballet, sports, antiquing and much more is fair game here.

I'm going to post a few links relating to hobbies and where to get more information about said hobbies from the internet.

The web is filled with interesting website on hobbies and each individual hobby could be made into not just a blog post, but into a whole darn website. Such is the nature of the web - there is a veritable treasure trove of hobby information available to users - you just need to know where to look....and that is where this blog entry might help.
