Set Lists From Concerts

Hi All,

Yeah...you probably all have seen something like this before...but I haven't. And if I haven't seen this then there's probably at least one other person who might benefit from this site.

Really, I dont' live under a rock....:)

Click on this link for setlists for various bands and concerts.

Users can find setlists - songs played - at various concerts by various bands and artists.  There are links for the setlists, artists, festivals, venues, and statistics.

The site would probably be used by users who use the artists option.  For example, if you pick Johnny Cash, you'll find the set list for his concert on July 5, 2003 at the Carter Family Fold in Virginia. The link has the list of songs starting with Folsom Prison Blues and continues with I Walk the Line....

There are further links for artist statistics and for previous concerts by the artist/musician/band. The site also has a forum for listeners to discuss setlists. concerts and tours.

Finally, the library has an excellent collection of non-fiction books on music, musicians and music history on all genres of music (rock 'n roll, jazz, classical, blues, modern and more).  Click this link for information straight from our library card catalog.

Stu

Paul Gatto Music - Thursday's from 11am-2pm

Hi All,

So what is this 'Paul Gatto Music' about? And where can I listen to it?

Indeed, those are excellent questions and the answer is...

Paul Gatto is a Farmingdale musician who plays music - along with his band - at the library on Thursday mornings from 11am-2pm.

What kind of music do they play?  They play jazz, swing, big-band and the like.  Lots of different styles and they take requests!

Seniors - and non-seniors - are welcome and we've seen lots of folks dancing in the aisles at these weekly music extravaganza's.  Come one, come all - you'll have a great time.  And give your ears a treat!

Click on this link for a calendar of events for the Farmingdale Public Library.

Enjoy the music!

Paul Gatto Music - Thursdays at the Library - Free Jazz

Hi All,

Just a quick shout-out to all blog readers. No, I'm not trying to make this an advertising blog for library events.

Although, occasionally I will make mention of a really, really good library program that I think readers will want to go to. (Click here for a link to the library schedule of programs via the web. You'll get a long list of programs that you might want to go to.)

One of which is the library's weekly jazz band. Paul Gatto and his band play wonderful, fantastic, swinging jazz at the library every Thursday from 11am-2pm.

You can find this swinging, hep, happening band downstairs in room A/B.

Or you can listen to the sweet sounds jazz and let your feet tap your way over to room A/B.

Trust me - you'll be happy you did.

And now for the kicker...we've got absolutely fabulous jazz CD's that are ripe for the taking. They are free, easy to listen to and you'll expand your musical horizons. How great is that?

Click here for the card catalog link to see the CD's in the Farmingdale PL collection.

Enjoy,
Stu
