Getting Ready For the Holidays

Hi All,

It is that time of year again...we are between Thanksgiving and the Christmas/New Year's Holidays - and that means parties, holiday gift giving, shopping, invitations to mail out, wrapping, cards to send and much, much more...

How is a person supposed to make head or tail from all the anxiety that this season begets?  Easy, click on the following links and you'll be well on your way to holiday season bliss.

Click on this link that will relieve you of the stress any time you have guests coming over during the holiday season.    For another perspective on simplifying the holidays, you can click on this link so that you can be organized this holiday season - and celebrate the season to boot!

From Styleathome.com comes this article entitled, '99 Ways To Get Ready For the Holidays'.  Yes, this is a long article, and yes it is an actual list - from 1-99 - on how to prepare for the holidays.  Cool stuff!  Especially number 12, 46 (who would have thought!) and 85.

Well, if you are having guests over, you will probably have to vacuum, or at least get rid of some of the clutter.  Click here to learn just how to do that....one room at at time.

Finally, click on this link - from MyWell-Being.com - which will, like the other links above, help you get ready for the holidays.

Enjoy the holidays - hopefully they'll be stress-free, relaxing and filled with classic family get-togethers.

Regards,
Stu

What's On TV - Not What You Think!!!

Hi All,

So you've been watching tv and want to know the name of the book a particular author discussed on a tv show like Oprah, Inside Edition, Rachel Ray or the Situation Room, right?

Well a colleague of mine mentioned a very interesting website called 'Fresh Fiction...For Today's Reader's. Click here for some Fresh Fiction of your own choosing.

So what can you actually do with this and how can you search? The site has a drop down menu so users can pick a variety of television shows to choose from.

Clicking on a particular show gets you to a page that has the date and names and author of the books from a particular television show. Simple enough, eh? One other thing to note about the site...it has the names of the author and books historically so users can go back and look for a date in the past.

And remember that if you find a book you want, click on this link to see if the library has the book on the shelf.

Enjoy the site.

That Time of Year! Family Get-Togethers

Hi All,

The weekend might have come and gone, but there is always a next weekend on the horizon.

That means 2 days off from work...and most (if not all) folks have family. And what does that have to do with a blog entry? Simple - todays topic is family entertaining and fun stuff to do with the relatives once they are over at the house.

As frequent readers know by now, I really, really like using About.com. As a matter of fact, if you click on this link, you'll find an article on 'Getting Together For the Holidays - Taking The Stress Out of These Gatherings'.

If you click on this link, you'll find some ideas for things to do once your guests arrive. These are some fun activities and games that you can play once your guests arrive.

Not sure how to put together a family get-together? Click on this link to get the scoop on this aspect of getting everybody together in one place

Finally, because of all the great advice I've imparted to you in this brilliant blog entry (note: humor alert), you will possibly want to photography this event. Click here to find out how to take memorable photos of the event - and to prevent everybody from moving when you take the 'family picture' at the end of the day.

Enjoy - and I hope you have a memorable family get together very shortly!
