Hi All,The Body Mass Index is a great way to figure out where you fall on the weight spectrum. Basically the Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of body fast based on height and weight. It applies to adult men and women - not children!
Click on this link and you'll go to a site from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute website. You'll be able to enter your weight and height using standard or metric measures. Click on 'compute BMI' and your BMI will appear below.
On the right side of the page you'll see BMI categories:
Underweight = <18 .5="" p="">Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25.0-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30.0 or greater
Users can also download the BMI calculator app on the site.
Click on these links for information on the limitations of the BMI, assessing your risk, controlling your weight and recipes to help you control your weight.
Hope the information helps and I hope the holidays don't torpedo your weight and health goals.
