Cleveland Indians and Baseball Streaks

Hi All,

If you didn't know this you can be forgiven - unless you live in Cleveland or Ohio that is!

Did you know that the Cleveland Indians - yes, the Indians - have a streak going? No, not a one, or two, or even three game winning streak.

How about a 22 game winning streak.  That means that if the Indians played a game a day - they haven't lost a game in over 3 weeks!

Click here for an article from the NYTimes about the streak.

And here from NPR - WNYC Radio about last nights' game - which went into extra innings. But they still won!  USAToday covered the game as well - and so did probably every major newspaper in America - but I wanted to cover two of the larger newspapers....

If you are a baseball fan, Wikipedia has an interesting page titled 'List of Major League Baseball Longest Winning Streaks'

Finally, click on this link from MLB.com to visit the Cleveland Indians' homepage.  You'll find lots of stories, statistics, articles, rosters, videos, scores, a community of like-minded Indian fans and schedules on the site.  Its a veritable encyclopedia of Cleveland Indian history!

Enjoy the site and the links.  And how can you NOT cheer on a team with a 22 game winning streak!  Go Indians!

Stu

State Lottery Results From USA.gov

Hi All,

Did you know that you can find state lottery results on the internet?  Yep - you can. And what's interesting is that you can find the information on USA.gov - a completely legitimate government website.  Pretty cool stuff. Click here for the link.

Users can use a drop-down menu to find a particular states lottery results.  Users can find links to Winning Numbers, How to Redeem Your Prize?, Winners Stories, Events and Promotions, Lottery News and Drawing Results.

Users can find links to Mega Millions, Powerball, Lotto and Cash4Life on the site as well.  There are links to Instant Scratch-Off Games and Video Gaming as well.

Finally there is a link explaining how to play these lottery games responsibly.  Click on this link to go to that part of the site.

Enjoy the sites and the links.

Regards,
Stu

Ebay - Sniping

Hi All,

Looking back at a few of the more read posted led me to this fact: my readers are really interested in Ebay and auctions.

As a result...here is another blog entry regarding auctions - and not just Ebay since I don't want to seem biased toward it.

I suspect that many readers who have used Ebay and other auction sites have lost out on a particular item by seconds.

One way around this is to use a 'snipe' service which literally waits until the last second or two to send a bid to the auction house. By sending a bid at the 'last possible' moment, the user is preventing another, higher, bid from coming in and causing the first bidder to lose the auction.

There are a few free online services that are available for this type of bidding. One of which is called Gixen. Click here to visit the site. Gixen users don't have to download any software and the service is good for an unlimited number of snipes...

Another auction bidding site is called AuctionSniper and can be visited by clicking on this link. AuctionSniper has a link for users so they can see a video of how the service actually works. Click here for that link.

Finally, click on this link from wikiHow to see an article on 'How To Snipe on Ebay'. Why this site and not another auction bidding site? Because I didn't want to be redundant and make the blog post just a list of auction bidding sites. Besides, users can just click on this link to see the search 'ebay sniping' that I did to generate the results for the first two bidding sites I mentioned.

So, good luck bidding and I hope all your auctions are winners!

Regards,

Stu
