Hi All,
A few weeks ago I blogged about Adorable Pets. I posted links to website for absolutely adorable pictures of cats, dogs, hamsters and birds.
And do you know what? The blog got so many darn hits! Way cool. Oh, and I was able to bring lots of smiles to a lot of people just by posting the links to these picture websites. Talk about satisfaction!
So...with thoughts of that very popular entry in mind, I began to get a bit creative...and I came up with...Adorable Baby Photos.
As I am musing to myself, I'm thinking about how to divided these photos up.
The only fair way is to post these photos by subject ... And so a blog post is borne. Forthwith several links to adorable baby photos. Enjoy the babies!
Starting out with a very generic - but adorable, that is the key here - Google search for 'baby pictures' you'll find this link. OMG! These little guys and gals are just too cute for words! Click here for the link.
How can anybody refuse a smiling baby? Indeed, one would be hard pressed to refuse one of these little gems. Click here for smiling baby pictures. Note that you can rate the picture - use the 'Next' icon on the page to see the next baby picture on the site.

Now, back to the regularly scheduling blog programming...
Somewhat similar to Flickr (I'll get to that in a minute - or, more likely, in another blog post), Photobucket is another photo sharing website. Click here for a bunch more photos of smiling babies. Awwww...how cute.
What can possibly be more adorable than a website full of babies in the bath? Think about it, they are clean (or about to be), pink and rosy cheeked, and of course, smiling. Check this out and you'll be giggling the next time that you take a shower and think about these photos!

Clouds - Everything Related to Them
Hi All,
I decided to a blog entry on a whimsical topic today...clouds. I am going to talk all about 'things related to clouds'. Why clouds you ask? Well, now that spring seems to have finally sprung, the dark snow and rain clouds of winter are passing and are now slowly becoming...April rain showers.
Which are much, much better than snow showers. Wouldn't you agree?
I originally thought of this blog entry by thinking about the different shapes of clouds. You might remember when you were a child and you looked at clouds and came up with different descriptions of various shapes of clouds, right? Okay, also click on this link from Flickr that has some impressive photos of clouds. Of course the title of the page is 'Shapes in the Clouds'. The pictures are darn pretty in their own right!
Now...the real reason why I generated this blog entry was to talk about the different types of clouds - like cumulus, cumulonimbus, cumulus humilis, stratocumulus and more...
Click here for a great - and interesting (really!) discussion of the different types of clouds from Wikipedia. Click on this link from the NOAA regarding cloud classification and characteristics. You will definitely like the graphics on this page that's for sure! And the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is very, very educational and very authoritative!!
This would make for a great school assignment website...or a place where a student can go to get information to help write a paper on clouds or the atmosphere...
Finally, to end this whimsical blog entry, here is a link to a very popular term lately: cloud computing. Click here to find a brief discussion about just exactly what cloud computing is. Link is from About.com so it is not super complicated. However, it is pretty darn interesting if you like technology, computer and the internet.
Okay, okay, you talked me into it: here is another link - this time from Wikipedia - discussing what cloud computing is...

It is something that we all do...whether or not we are single, married or dating...what am I talking about? Food shopping. It is one of the essential things that we all must do in life. A girls' gotta eat - and so do guys. Of course we can always order in - but that can get might expensive night after night. Gotta Love Them - Gotta Have Them!
Hi All, Welcome to another edition of the Farmingdale PL blog called Reference and You...today we are going to discuss lots and lots of adorable pet pictures. Well, we've got you covered also - click here for a similar site to LOLCats, but this deals with dogs, puppies and pooches! Are you one of the many folks who love hamsters? We have board games, computers and an ultra-comfortable table for teens to use to study or 'hang out' in. 9. We have a large collection of books on iTunes for patrons to borrow. 10. Tutor.com - a fantastic online solution for students who need to get homework help in subjects as varied as math, science, social studies, english and more.
Body Language
Hi All,
Just had a brilliant - just brilliant - idea for a blog post. I'm working here at the reference desk and I just realized that I get to see patrons in their very natural condition. Patrons walk in from the parking lot and well, 'act normally' in their environment.
I like to learn - and I like to learn about people. I also like to learn how people think, behave and why they act the way they do...
So, with that somewhat vague (but hopefully intriguing)...what is the subject of todays' blog entry?
Body Language! Also known as 'non-verbal communication', body language is a subtle way to 'read' into people thoughts and communications...
