We'd be remiss if we didn't mention at least something about the impending hurricane Earl that is winding its way up the east coast. Here are five quality sites that will help you prepare for hurricane Earl (and for that matter, any future hurricanes that might affect Long Island) Hopefully you'll never have to look at this post again...

Hurricane information can be found here: NOAA - the National Oceanica and Atmospheric Administration Click on active weather alerts and then look on the right side of the screen - you'll find links to varios active weather events.

Newsday.com has a good site - only if you are a subscriber to either the newspaper or to Cablevisions' Optonline service. Go figure. If you are a subscriber, click here to find lots of useful information on the storm

Finally, click here listen to WCBS880 - a local AM radio station that has weather reports every 10 minutes - alternatively you can listen to WINS 1010 for weather reports also.
