Government and the law - it is all around us and everywhere you want and need to be - to quote a familiar advertisement.
Law and legal issues affect us in all aspects of our daily life: from driving, to purchasing groceries, to paying taxes, to children being required to go to school, to buying a house or renting an apartment. Without law and legal issues we really wouldn't have much of a functioning society.
That being said, there are some pretty darn silly laws on the books of various states. And that is what this blog entry is about - certainly not some dry, dull, legal issues...nope. Not in this blog!
So...for your entertainment here are some entertaining laws that are on the books in various states of our union.

On a completely different note, the library does have access to the New York States Statutes in the Reference section. Why would I put this in the blog entry? Well, regular library visitors can visit the library to search for silly or archaic laws that are still (if any) on the books in New York State. Alternatively, you can visit this site to check out the NYS Statutes online to see what, if any, weird laws NYS has on its' books! Have fun!
